For this project, the task was to create a brand identity for a fictional restaurant, complete with a logo and a menu for the establishment. My restaurant is a classic diner based on the space race movement during the 1950s with a futuristic approach. The restaurant would be in outer space with the target audience being extraterrestrials and lost astronauts.
In the development phase, I conducted type studies where I would experiment with a combination of typefaces, distortion, and exploration of negative space, pun intended!
After getting a good idea of the logo I moved to conceptualizing the menu by researching the format of existing diner menus, typefaces, and colors.
It was incredibly satisfying to put together my identity. It was artistically freeing and implementing the fundamentals made it feel more authentic.
